Application of FEA

FEA tools are widely used for calculating mechanical stresses for various types of applications. Their application for pipe stress analysis is for the special cases where the regular code calculations result in SIF and K factors that are either too high or too low.

FEA Tools

Neumech Solutions has the capability to use FEA tools for both pipe stress and general stress calculation problems. For pipe stress applications, We can use FEA softwares to calculate the SIF and K factors and then import the results in to CAESAR II, or we can directly use CAESAR II built-in FEA tool known as FEA Translation. Typically these calculations are required for branches or equipment connections where the ratios fall outside the recommended ranges or for severe cyclic applications. Neumech Solutions checks if the application of these tools is required for your pipe stress analysis, and optimizes the analysis results if applicable.
